HOA Directory– Homeowners can enter the community’s name or subdivision to find the association’s contact information, list of board members, and corporation documents, such as the association’s articles of incorporation.
Florida Recorded Document Search– Visit the county recorder’s office where the property is located to find an association’s Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&Rs), Amendments to CC&Rs, Bylaws, Lien Notices, HOA Notices, Plats, Maps, and other community documents. The association’s CC&Rs must be recorded with the county land records to be enforceable.
What are HOA Governing Documents? The Declaration of Covenants, the Articles of Incorporation, the ByLaws, and the Rules and Regulation.
Did you know ? In Florida, once a person or family purchases a property within an HOA’s jurisdiction they typically become members of the association. This automatic membership comes with the right to vote for the HOA’s board of directors, vote on community matters and more… It is also required that all members pay dues, known as HOA fees, to the HOA.
The obligations and restrictions of membership are defined in the HOA’s bylaws. So its very important as a member of an HOA to understand those obligation and restrictions by reading and understanding your Governing Documents.
